Heritage Restaurant

Heritiage

Heritage; Phone no. 804.353.4060; opens for dinner every evening except Monday and Sunday, opens for brunch on Sunday (map)

The place is often packed. You can know how good a chef is when you have dinner there. Waiters are friendly and deliver good services. Menu lists 3 sections: small, medium and large. You and your friends can order different plates and share them. I love pork fries that is a creative dish. Beet Salad is great. Don't miss their drink menu. CaneBreak is delicious.

Amuse

Amuse

Amuse Restaurant; phone no. 804.340.1580; daily: 11:30 - 4:30 pm, Thu + Fri: until 8:30 pm (map)

Amuse Restaurant is located insider Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Sometimes the restaurant is closed for a special event during regular hours so I encourage people to make a reservation. Their portions are small but the presentation is lovely. I usually go there for lunch instead of dinner since they serves similar entrees for lunch and dinner. The price on lunch menu is lower than that on dinner menu. Of course, the portions are relatively smaller for lunch. Amuse is a great place to take out of town guests for meals or drink after seeing exhibitions in the museum or walking in Fan/Museum District. You will receive 10% off if you are VMFA member

The Roosevelt

Roosevelt

The Roosevelt; phone no. 804.658.1935; opens for dinner every day and brunch on Sunday (map)

The Roosevelt is famous for cocktails. The price of drink is around $10. I do not think that they offer happy hours. However, the cocktails never fail. I like to read "About" webpage on restaurants' website to know their background and chef. The experience of chef and awards in Roosevelt restaurant are impressive. Service has always been great. Last time we were there at 10:30 am without reservation for Sunday brunch. We had to wait for 1.5 hours, definitely make a reservation! They serve perfect brunch plates and the portions are right. Dinner is amazing, also.
