This course is an introductory survey of feminist theories, including political theories, hermeneutic theories (theories of interpretation), and epistemological theories (theories of knowledge). It is required of all Women's Studies majors and minors, and it is offered for elective credit toward the major and minor in Philosophy. Its main objective is to give you a familiarity with the basic theories characteristic of feminist philosophy and women's studies more generally so that you can do in-depth work in feminist theory and so that you can apply these theories in your other courses and internships. Class is conducted in an informal lecture/discussion format. There are no prerequisites.
