Sleep is Good

The hunt for a rocking chair is nearing an end. We're looking for an all-wood rocking chair. Storehouse has a chair we both like, but we thought we should look around. We're just back tonight from three furniture stores and a mall. None of them has wooden rockers. They all have those padded gliders, which seem to be the rage. We don't like gliders, so it looks like we're going to get the rocker from Storehouse. I'll probably give them a call tomorrow to order the chair, which will hopefully arrive right around the time Bumpy decides to say hello. With that done, we're in a holding pattern. No plans, no more arrangements to be made. Pick up some diapers, maybe some formula (just in case). Sleep. While we were at the mall tonight, we went into Baby Gap. When I was paying for some clothes we'd picked out, Jean fell into conversation with a couple who were in with their newborn, who was just three weeks old. The little baby was bawling, but the parents were calm. I asked them if they were getting any sleep. The mother told me that one hour now feels like eight. Let's just hope so. Jean slept last night without waking up. I've stayed in bed until 7:30 in the morning the last two days just because she's able to sleep. She told me today that she felt like her old self, able to focus on work all day. She did take her traditional noontime nap (that's the benefit of living five minutes from the office), which gave her energy for the afternoon. We're also trying to spend more time relaxing at night. We could have done the grocery shopping this evening after the great furniture hunt, but she felt like she'd done enough walking. We came home, and she's sitting on her Boppy™, knitting a new outfit for the Bump.
We're both working late tomorrow night (she's going to try to get ahead on some files, while I'm going to do the tutorial in the new digital video suite in the library). After tomorrow, we're going to try to slow down some more (with the exception of dinner out this Saturday night). Things have gone well, but we're not going to push our luck.
We made it into the low sixties today. As much as I like Winter to be Winter, today was an unexpected surprise, and it was nice not to wear a coat to work. This evening the sky was coated with a thin layer of clouds. The sunset was all pastels.
