Membership
Information
- Membership: Choir and
Schola are open to all students at the University of Richmond,
regardless of major.
- Auditions: Choir and Schola auditions are held
at the beginning of every semester; sign-up for times on the
sheet posted outside Dr. Riehls office, 107 Booker Hall.
The auditions are brief, and no prepared pieces are required.
- Rehearsals:
- ChoirMonday and Wednesday from
5:30-6:45 p.m.
- ScholaMonday and Wednesday from
4:00-5:15; Thursday
from 5:00-6:00
- Credit: Choir and Schola may be taken repeatedly
as one-credit courses.
- FSVP--Successfully completing
three semesters of Choir or Schola fulfills the field-of-study requirement
in the Visual and Performing Arts
- Performances: Both Choir and Schola frequently
perform on and off campus and periodically take tours to domestic
and international locations. During March 2000, Schola made a
very successful concert tour to Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia, and in 2004
will tour France and Italy.
- Leadership: Choir and Schola are conducted by
Jeffrey Riehl and accompanied by Shellie Johnson.
