General Physics

G.P.Gilfoyle, Instructor

Interference pattern produced by white light shining on a soap bubble. The bending and overlap of light passing through the film disperses it into its constituent colors. In this course we will study the interference and diffraction of light and how it effects what we can see.

General Physics I-II (Physics 131-132) is a year-long sequence that introduces the student to most of the major topics in physics including mechanics, statistical mechanics and thermodynamics, electromagnetism, radioactivity, and light.
