How To

The process is fairly simple. Open the RealEncoder, and from the File menu, choose Open Session. A dialog box opens for you to select the .WAV file you're converting to RealAudio. You also specify the name of the file that will be created by the encoder. Click on OK.

Next you enter in the text information that will display when the file plays. You've got three lines for a title, an author, and any copyright information you wish to display. You also need to select the type of output you wish to create. For my web pages I create both a 28.8 version and an isdn version of each file so people with modems have access but people with LAN connections can hear a cleaner file. Once you've made your selection, press Start and the file will silently convert.

That's all there is to creating the file. At this point you could click on the file in the Windows Explorer and your RealPlayer would start up and play the file. The next step is a little trickier but it can still be free.
