With ndarrays, numpy allows indexing and slicing operations similar to standard Python lists. We access individual elements in an array using square brackets just like Python lists. The indexing starts at 0 along all dimensions counting from left to right or -1 counting from right to left.

We can extract a slice of the array using a range of indices. The syntax is [start:stop] where start is inclusive and stop is exclusive.
