Pipestem State Park- Location of the New River Running Camp's morning workouts. This park offers over 60 miles of trails for running, hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Located on a mountain plateau this park offers an escape from the summer heat. The "tram" takes you down to the Bluestone River which offers excellent fishing and hiking. The restaurant at the bottom is worth the trip. The park offers practically every outdoor recreation event imaginable. You will find 2 golf courses, a swimming pool, a put-put golf course, fishing opportunities in the Pipestem Lake and Bluestone River, to name just a few. For more click on "facilities" above. Bluestone Lake- Just down the road in Hinton, WV. The Bluestone Lake is a beautiful recreation area that offers boating, water skiing, jet skiing, and fishing opportunities (Known for trophy catfish.). The lake is formed by the New River and Bluestone River. A great vacation spot. Winter Place Ski Resort- Just a few miles from Athens you will find Winter Place. This 4 season resort offers excellent trails for skiing, xc skiing, running and mountain biking. During the ski season they offer night skiing under the lights. Restaurants - There are numerous restaurants within a few miles of camp, including Cracker Barrel, Texas Steakhouse, Subway, and Applebee's. There is also the famous El Mariachi Mexican restaurant as well as Biscuit World. In downtown Princeton there is a Coffee House that includes sandwiches and salads. Sports - Princeton is also home to the Princeton Devil Rays, a minor league ball club in the Appalachian League and a minor league affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Directions
To get to Concord College, take I-77 (the West Virginia Turnpike) to exit 14 (between Bluefield and Beckley) and drive 6 miles east into Athens. Concord's 123-acre campus is a half-mile east of Route 20, on Vermillion Street. Concord is located close to major four-line highways (Interstates 64 and 77 and U.S. 460). Travel connections can also be made through the Mercer County Airport, located about 14 miles from campus, or through the Amtrak rail system, which passes through Hinton, West Virginia, about 25 miles north of Athens.
