Using On-line Help

Windows 95 has a very good on-line help program. In many cases it has animated examples showing how to execute selected funtions. To access it:

• Click the Start button
• Click on Help
• Click on the Contents tab
  • If you have never used Windows before click on the the "Tour:Ten minutes to using Windows."
  • If you are a Windows 3.1 user migrating to Windows 95 click on "If you have used Windows before."
  • Most Windows users will benefit from reviewing the topics in the "Introducing Windows," "How To," "Tips and Tricks," and "Troubleshooting" sections. Quickly familiarize yourself with what help is available in case you need to reference it later.
• Click on the Index tab to look for help by topic
• Click on Find to look for help topics containing a keyword

Many windows programs like Microsoft Word allow you to access on-line program specific help by pressing the F1 key or accessing help from the menu bar. By convention the Help menu is usually the rightmost menu option.
