Starting and Exiting Windows 95
Windows 95 will start automatically when you
power on your computer. If you are connected to a network server you may
be asked to enter your login ID and password.
When you are finished with your session it is important that you shut
down Windows 95 properly before you turn off the power to your computer.
Follow these steps for an orderly shut down:
- Save all documents you are working on.
- Exit all programs you have opened.
- Click on the Start button
- Click on Shut Down
- Select the Shut Down the Computer radio button
- Click on the Yes button if you want to continue to shut down
- Some systems, such as the new Gateways and most laptop models will
automatically power themselves down at this point. If you need to turn
your system off manually, you may turn off the power when you see a screen
displaying a message that it is now safe to do so.
