Rename a File or Folder

To rename a file, folder or directory:

• Click on the file or folder you want to rename to highlight it.
• Click on the File menu at the top of the Explorer window.
• Select the Rename option by clicking on it.
• Type the new name in the dialog box and hit Enter

As an alternative to the File-Rename menu option you may press the F2 key to initiate the rename option. You may also use the My Computer window to rename a file or folder. Follow the same steps you use with the Explorer window.
