Copy a File, Folder or Directory
In Windows 95 there are multiple ways to copy files and folders.
You may use the copy and paste utilities to copy files and folders in
Explorer.
- Select the file or folder icon that you want to move by placing the
mouse pointer on it.
- Right click the mouse.
- Click on the Copy option.
- Move your mouse pointer to the folder where you want to paste the file
or folder you are copying.
- Right click your mouse.
- Click on the Paste option.
You can also use drag and drop to copy a file or folder:
- Select the file or folder icon that you want to move by placing the
mouse pointer on it.
- Press the Ctrl key and hold it down
- Press left mouse button and hold it down
- Drag the icon to new location.
- Release the mouse pointer to copy the file or folder in its new location.
Alternatively, you may use the copy and paste icons on the toolbar if
you have it activated. There are also keyboard shortcuts for the Copy and
Paste functions. Use the Ctrl C key combination to initiate a copy.
Use the Ctrl V key combination to paste.
