Philosophy 381: Philosophy of Language
David Lewis, in "Languages and Language" considers 28 objections to his proposal.
For one of these objections, (a) present enough of his proposal such that someone could understand the objection, (b) present and explain the objection, (c) present and explain Lewis's reply to the objection, (d) present and defend a potential reply to Lewis' objection, and (e) speculate on how Lewis might attempt to reply to your reply.
Extra directions: This assignment should be a minimum of 2 standardly formatted typewritten pages. There is no maximum length, but since I value precision, conciseness, and clarity, excess verbiage should be avoided.
