Phi Sigma Tau

National Philosophy Honor Society

Phi Sigma Tau is an international honor society headquartered at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Its motto is "Philounton Sophia Time," which means "Honor Those Who Love Wisdom." It publishes a refereed undergraduate Philosophy journal, Dialogue, to which all undergraduate philosophy students are invited to submit their work. You do not have to be a Philosophy major or minor to qualify for membership. Application Procedure:

Calls for applications go out normally in the Spring and occassionaly in the Fall. After such a call, submit a copy of your transcript (need not be official) to the Chapter Advisor, Prof. Karin Boxer.

Upon being accepted for chapter membership, you will be asked to attend an initiaition ceremony, fill out a form for the National Office, and pay a $25 initiation and membership fee. Ceremonies may be held as often as once per semester, depending upon interest and the number of qualified students.
