Children's Literature Links

There are many wonderful sites for the study of children's literature; you will find some of these linked into the course syllabus, with suggestions for reading. Listed here you will find some of the most comprehensive general sites I have found; please let me know if you find others you think should be listed here. I have not listed commercial sites; I've tried, here, to stick to the scholarly community--which, as you will see, is vast and diverse. Enjoy!

*        Research Guide for English 203

*       Child_Lit--this is the website for the Child_Lit discussion group, a listserv for students, professors, and readers of children's literature.

*             Newbery Classroom Home--a great listing of other resources in children's literature, including a very complete listing of author and illustrator sites.

*       The Children's Literature Web Guide--another excellent site linking to a variety of other sites for children's literature, including "Web-Traveller's Toolkit: Essential Kid Lit Websites," listings of recent Newbery and Caldecott award winners, Readers' Theatre, and other useful links.

*       Fairrosa's Cyber Library of Children's Literature is a terrific site with lots of wonderful links--very comprehensive and fun to explore. The "Reading Room" is a vast collection of on-line children's literature.

*       The American Library Association's resource page for banned and challenged books.
