Welcome! I created this site to demonstrate the value
of incorporating simple design and intellectual content into
academics-oriented Web sites. The site includes my current résumé and curriculum vitae,
current course syllabi,
my personal essay library, and links to various
online journals and books I enjoy or find
intellectually stimulating. ![]() |

My name is Daniel Hocutt. I am a freelance Web designer, adjunct
professor of English at the University of Richmond's School of Continuing Studies,
president of the National Conference of
Governor's Schools, and former director of the Governor's School for
Humanities and Visual & Performing Arts at the University of Richmond. I graduated from
the University of Richmond in 1998 with an M.A. in English. Before entering
the graduate program, I taught English and yearbook journalism for four
years as a secondary English teacher and yearbook staff adviser at Oscar Smith High School in
Chesapeake, Virginia. One of my personal goals is to integrate Web
technology with the study of English language and literature, focusing on
the effect of hypertext technology on academic discourse. ![]() |
