Tables

Tables are a good way to control the layout of a web page. You can make tables absolute so that they are a specific width regardless of the width of the surfer's browser window or you can make them relative widths (describing columns and rows by percentages of the screen) so that the table fits the browser window regardless of the effect on the contents of the table.

This page is using a table to keep the lines of text short enough to be easily read. There is also an empty cell creating the indent for this paragraph of text.

Tables can have borders too, which can be useful; but if you're using tables to control a page's layout, you'll probably want to be sure you've set BORDER=0.
