Students do research in my group in a variety of ways…some students work full time over the summer in exchange for a research fellowship stipend and some do research during the academic year.  Students do research during the academic year by either signing up for course credit (Chemistry 320: Introduction to Research) or informally by keeping a desk in the lab and working whenever their coursework allows it.  Many students do some combination of these options.
