Since 1988 I have been a member of the VCU Community Guitar Ensemble directed by John Patykula (seated, center). That's me at the far right, in the bass section, after a concert performance in July of 1999. The ensemble meets to prepare for three performances per year, one towards the end of July, culminating John Patykula's "The Guitar and Other Strings" annual concert series, another, early in the Christmas season in conjunction with the VCU student guitar ensemble and, lastly, an appearance at the VCU Department of Music annual concert to benefit MCV's Hospitality House.
I also play periodically with UR's student guitar ensemble, directed by Baron Tymas. We have performed at Border's Books and the downtown campus of J. Seargeant Reynolds Community College.
