From: Arnold, Margaret [mjarnold@ukans.edu] Sent: Wednesday, November 29, 2000 4:17 PM To: 'milton-l@richmond.edu' Cc: Arnold, Margaret Subject: Thanks for the good suggestions I appreciate the many good responses to my query about Eve in the fine arts. My student has now examined much material and thinks she will pursue some recent works, including Judy Chicago's small image of Eve in "The Dinner Party" Another one considered examining descriptions of MIlton's Eden for connections with the history of gardening. She gave up, commenting that she doubted whether JM ever put a flower seed or sprout in the earth. No answer to this one is demanded. We don''t get to offer a whole Milton course very often, so I have enjoyed teaching real students this semester. Again, thank you. P.S. No Florida jokes taking off from Milton? The Shakespeareans are full are drops of gore, shriveled chads, and such. Well, we are more serious folk, and the time has probably passed.
