Homework Suggestions
The following activities are homework suggestions as follow-up activities to
your whales unit lessons. Students or teachers who find more activities, work
samples or suggestions to add to this document may write to: kjoyce@richmond.edu
and they will be considered for inclusion.
- Math Word Problems - List one problem on the
chalkboard daily and ask students to return answers as well as how they arrived
at the answer. In addition, have students create their own whale math word
problems.
- Research Whales - Have students research whales
and site sources of their findings.
- Places to Write - Ask students to write
to addresses listed under Whale Research, and have them report on what they
found or received.
- Students may want to explore these Internet Resources and keep daily journal
notes on their findings.
