Phi Sigma Tau

National Philosophy Honor Society
Virginia Delta Chapter,

Phi Sigma Tau is an international honor society headquartered at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. Its motto is "Philounton Sophia Time," which means "Honor Those Who Love Wisdom." It publishes a refereed undergraduate Philosophy journal, Dialogue, to which all undergraduate philosophy students are invited to submit their work. You do not have to be a Philosophy major or minor to qualify for membership. For more information about the Society in general you should contact David E.Gibson .

Virginia Delta Chapter

Qualifications:

• Junior or Senior Standing.
• Completion of at least 1.7 units in Philosophy at the 300-level.
• An overall Grade Point Average of 3.0.
• A G.P.A. in Philosophy of at least 3.2 (if you are a major) and 3.5 (if you are not a major).

Application Procedure:

Submit an advising copy of your transcript to the Chapter Advisor, Prof. Geoff Goddu, and ask when the next initiation ceremony is planned. Ceremonies may be held as often as once per semester, depending upon interest and the number of qualified students.

Upon being accepted for chapter membership, you will be asked to fill out a form for the National Office and pay a $25 initiation and membership fee.

• Invitations to participate in all Honorary activities, including planning.
