1. At 1096a1-4 of the Nichomachean Ethics, Aristotle chastises Plato when he writes: "or, further, he might suffer the worst evils and misfortunes; and if this is the sotof life he leads, not one would count him happy, except to defend a philosopher's paradox."

2. Identify and explain the Platonic position that Aristotle is here suggesting is incorrect.

3. From Book I of the Nichomachean Ethics, identify (with citations) and explain at least three ways (number them!) in which Aristotle's methods or presuppositions for investigating the nature of the good life differ from those of Plato.

4. From Book I of the Nichomachean Ethics, identify (with citations) and explain at least one way in which Aristotle's claims about the good life match Plato's.
